Keeping Safe Around the Fire
Everyone knows that sitting around a fire is the ultimate fall nighttime activity. Hanging out with friends around a fire when the weather has a chill in the air. Here are some tips to keep your eyes safe around the fire.
- Protect your eyes from smoke. Smoke can cause eye irritation, so it is recommended that you wear protective eyewear when around a fire. If you experience eye irritation, it can be cured with artificial tears.
- Don’t put dangerous items in the fire. Never put any glass in the fire as it can shatter quickly. Any pressurized can should stay out of the fire as it can explode.
- Always stay a safe distance away from the fire. Flames and sparks can fly out of the fire as it is notoriously unpredictable. Keep far enough away from the fire to stay safe.
- If you feel as anything has gone into your eyes, close your eyes and call an ambulance immediately.
