IEC Doctors Attend Contact Lens Congress

Dr. Kristie Chevalier, Dr. Mindy Blackford and Dr. Austin Krohn optometrists of International Eyecare Center, recently attended the 48th annual Heart of America Contact Lens Society Congress held at the Hyatt Regency Crown Center Hotel, Kansas City. The conference provided a diverse curriculum of continuing education. The IEC doctors attended courses covering the latest advances in contact lenses, treatment of glaucoma, macular degeneration, refractive surgery, hereditary retinal diseases and corneal injuries. While at the event, the doctors also visited the exhibit hall which had more than one hundred exhibitors presenting new equipment and instrumentation, lenses, frames and pharmaceuticals.

The Heart of America Contact Lens Society was founded over forty years ago with goal to provide post-graduate education in the theory and application of contact lenses. HOACLS strives to provide a wide variety of workshops, symposiums and courses. Each Congress is structured to offer new learning opportunities for optometrists and paraoptometrics.
